It’s been a crazy month for me, and I’m absolutely knackered! Today is blissfully quiet and plan-free. I decided to take the opportunity to post an outfit I wore to work Friday, and tell you all about the crazy whirlwind that has become my life. Not that I’m not enjoying it, mind you, it has plenty of perks.
Work-wise, I’ve been up to my eyeballs and extremely challenged. Navigating the intricacies of the company is going well, but I’ve also been tasked with mastering software that’s not written in my mother tongue. I’m managing, but only because I’ve been spending a good chunk of my free time doing self-assigned homework to keep up.
My paycheck this month has certainly been earned. I’m celebrating by cooking some of the newly-mastered Asian dishes for all my BFFs next weekend, after which we’re going to go see “Blade Runner 2049”.
This night of food and cinema glory is doubling as a belated birthday celebration; this year, with how busy it’s been, the 25th of September just sort of got swallowed. There was an absolutely heavenly chocolate cupcake left on my desk at work with a birthday note, otherwise I might have forgotten about it completely. Chocolate certainly cheered up my Monday.
Of course, while I was busy, I still got presents from the gang. Cole and Willow pitched in together and got me an Etsy gift card—which was spent within an hour of getting it—I can hardly wait to share what I ordered. Anne, Nomi, and I took the cooking class together, and the two of them signed us up for a belly-dancing class last week. While I think the dancing is beautiful, I’m not exactly graceful. In fact, I’m absolute rubbish, ha-ha. The first class was pretty fun, though.
The last gift I got is from what the gals concluded must be a secret admirer, I think they’re crazy. That being said, maybe there’s something to it. When I left class on Wednesday, I found a little present waiting for me in my bicycle basket. I’m not sure who left it, as the card only said, “Happy belated birthday.” Whoever they are, they have great taste—such a pretty necklace, and my birthstone to boot. Thank you, mystery gift-giver, it’s lovely.
