Not to be a downer, but I’m combating some post-holiday blues. It’s been more than two weeks since the New Year; our tree no longer dominating the place, sunlight hours dipping ever lower, and seeing the holiday generosity that’s so wonderful in the season disappearing from the community has taken it’s toll. In defiance of those gloomy feelings, I decided to pick some of my favorite pieces to wear today. Starting small.
It was actually snowing earlier today, I just didn’t manage to get out there for photos before it turned into hail, followed by a steady drizzle of rain, and a lot of wind. Even without snow, it’s still far too chilly to run around without layers; what better way to make a look a bit more festive than by adding a lush, red coat?
I love the combination of delicate, feminine lace and rough denim. Dressy enough for date night and casual enough to still be worn day to day—win, win.
The outfit, especially the coat, boosted my spirit so much that I’ve decided to fully embrace my holiday cheer again. I’m planning to bring hot cocoa and cookies to our next owners association meeting later this week.
What are you doing to battle the post-holiday gloom?
