Capsule Wardrobe # 8

It’s no secret that I love the classic jeans-and-tee combination; it’s got a nice, casual feel to it.  That being said, today I thought I’d give the look an update by using a three-quarter sleeve blouse, tucked into jeans, paired with simple black pumps.

Not only is the look comfortable according to the lovely Willow, but it’s versatile; it can easily transition from a day look, to a casual night look with a few different accessories, and slightly different styling.  Willow was eager to show off both, so that’s exactly what we did.

Without further ado, outfit 8 – so titled “Day to Night”.

For the daytime look (above), we shortened the gold chain with the feather pendant, and she carried the structured bag. Sensible, comfortable, an every-day outfit that doesn’t require much muss or fuss (just how I like ‘em).

For the evening look (below) we layered the gold chain, and pulled the blouse down a bit to reveal her lovely shoulders.  Then, we swapped the structured bag for an over-sized clutch with a small chain, and added a gold bracelet to the mix.

Like I said, it’s an easy transition.

This outfit wasn’t without its challenges, though.  Because these are my clothes, they don’t fit Willow quite the same.  She has a slimmer build than yours truly, and she’s a bit taller.  The jeans were what tripped us up, not the length as that’s perfect for her, but the waist was a bit too big for her.  Some creative pinning later and the look was complete.  Thank goodness for the magic of safety pins, right?  Right!
