Some Assembly Required

Some Assembly Required

Over the weekend I got a package I’ve been eagerly anticipating: furniture! Our space is small, sure, but I’ve been wanting a few bits and pieces for a while now. They were finally here.

Huzzah!

It feels like a small victory in and of itself when items arrive right now simply because everything is slowed down to a crawl at the moment. Not that I’m complaining about slow postal processes - slower is better when it’s for safety reasons. Safe is, and absolutely needs to be, the priority.

I was happily unpacking everything when I realized something was missing: assembly instructions!

Oh fork…

Thankfully for me, I have a heck of a cheer squad, that repeats itself frequently, in Logan. Each time a hurdle like this presents itself, he encourages me to at least try before I toss up my hands in defeat (which is in my nature, I’m sorry to say).

I made him promise to help if I got stuck, which he did, but he gave me a kiss on the cheek and said, “I married a bad ass, you’ve got this”.

Turns out, he’s right: I’ve got this.
Not sure about the bad ass part though.

My two step staining process (first orange, then a cherry wood that’s really just brown) made them look like this, just the right color:

Happy Wednesday, everyone. Good luck with your projects, and remember: you’ve got this.
