Surprise!

Surprise!

I have some news; I’ve shortened it, but it’s not quite a TL;DR version. Bear with me, it’s worth it.

Earlier this month I got a letter via snail mail.  In the age of digital communication this was strange, but stranger still was that I didn’t know the sender, nor did he know me.

Curiouser and curiouser.

He wrote to me of his mother, Elaine. This poor woman suffered from dementia and, in a moment of rebellion against her caregivers (and who can blame her for wanting independence?), opened her front door and signed for what turned out to be a miss-delivered a package. She put it into her closet and it remained there, unopened, for quite some time.

That is, until her son found it as he cleaned out her living space after her unfortunate passing. Upon examination of the contents, he determined there was clear sentimental value to the contents, and wrote me the aforementioned letter. We’ve since exchanged multiple emails and, not long after, the contents of the box were re-packed and sent off to me, priority shipping.

I’m extremely pleased to say “WELCOME HOME” to all my lovely repainted dolls!

They seem happy to be home.

These two were always so easy to pose.

I’d forgotten how long and slender Anne is, so pretty!

Do you ship Heather and Nicholai? I’m on the fence, I’d love to have your input.

When I got the box I was shaking with anticipation and I may have shed a tear or two (let’s be honest, I ugly cried). I feel extremely fortunate and more than a little ashamed, having wondered all this time what kind of monster would keep my dolls.

Obviously, I’m going to have to figure out who fits where in the story as well as build a new house for Eve & Cole - things just got a lot more crowded in the best possible way.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.
