Travel Anxiety

Travel Anxiety

Thought I’d go ahead and show off our comfy travel-wear today in an attempt to distract myself from my anxiety over flying.

I know it’s weird, but I’m a nervous flyer, at least, part-time.  Takeoff freaks me out in a big way and, to compound my stress, I start googling “plane crash” in the days leading up to air travel. No idea why I do that to myself, but it’s become a habit.

By the time I’m on the aircraft I’m pretty tense, takeoff is the worst, but once I’ve been in the air a good 10-15 minutes I can relax again. Then again…if I don’t get on the plane…

Thankfully, Logan is going to be right there with me.

He’s always patient and he’s taught me several breathing exercises that I’ve used in the past to calm myself. I swear, he’s a Moira-whisperer and I know he’ll let me cling to his hand whenever I feel the need. He doesn’t even tease me about it. Thank you, baby.

Our first flight is 6 hours and our second flight is about 6.5 hours.  When you factor in layover, 3-hour-advance check-in (standard for international flights out of Copenhagen), baggage claim, and passport control, we’re looking at a minimum of 18 hours travel time.  Getting there isn’t much fun, but the destination is worth it.

Something tells me when we land, we’re going to need to eat something, wash the plane off ourselves, and sleep off the jet lag.  I’m nervous and excited all at once. I promise loads of pictures.
