Capsule Wardrobe # 17 & 18

OOAK repainted made to move Barbie, Eve, Plastically Perfect - OOTD capsule wardrobe post 18.jpg

Including today’s looks, we’re up to eighteen of our goal of thirty looks from our ten-piece capsule wardrobe.  I don’t know about you, but I feel like we’ve accomplished quite a bit.  No worries, this isn’t me tossing in the towel, just patting myself on the back (equally as annoying?)  Today, as I looked through what’s been put together so far, I realized that one item has been largely ignored:  the pencil skirt.

Maybe it’s my personal preference for slacks, I can’t say for certain, but that beautiful skirt has been downright neglected by yours truly.  My bad.  So, today I decided to share two looks that feature the pencil skirt; I want to give it a moment in the spotlight, so to speak.

For the first outfit, I paired our downtrodden skirt with a simple white tee.  White on white isn’t something I usually wear; I’m just too prone to spills, stains, if there’s a dirty surface nearby I’m almost guaranteed to brush against it, and so on.  I don’t stay white on white for long.  That being said, I liked the look.

When I slid on my pearl heels, it felt a bit like I was pushing for an edgy, powerhouse look—which wasn’t how I was feeling, but look at that pose in the first picture, woah! —so I softened things with a partial up-do.

Overall, I like the look, though whether I’d dare to wear it out…I’m not so sure.  Maybe if I had an “in case of emergency” backup piece for everything white, when I inevitably got something on them.

For the second outfit, this one ventured out into the world with me yesterday, I swapped my basic, white tee shirt for its black counterpart.  And yes, for anyone wondering, I had my leggings in my purse just in case.

I’m not sure where our beautiful, sunny, warm spring disappeared to, but the last few days it’s been downright cold; overnight froze and this morning we faced a little bit of snow. Erg.  Because of the temperature drop, I decided to swap my pearl heels for my tall boots, giving myself a little boost in heat trapping ability.

As much as I like black and white, I felt like I needed an accessory to really pull this look off, so I added the slightest pinch of color with my turquoise pendant.

I felt fairly sassy in this outfit, which can be a good thing from time to time, especially on day one of returning to the grind after staycation of sorts - even if it was a little soggy.

Thanks so much for stopping by. We’re down to 12 outfits remaining, how time flies :)
